Eligibility Requirements
- Current undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at an accredited college/university OR incoming college freshman
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
- Open to all majors and fields of study
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Enrolled or planning to enroll full-time for the upcoming academic year
Selection Criteria
Applications are evaluated based on:
- Quality and thoughtfulness of video response (50%)
- Academic achievement and GPA (25%)
- Clarity of communication and presentation (15%)
- Relevance to scholarship prompt (10%)
Video Essay Requirement
All applicants must submit a 2–4 minute video responding to ONE of the following prompts:
Option 1: How does homeownership (or lack thereof) impact your community? Share specific examples you’ve observed and explain what you think could be done to improve housing accessibility in your area.
Option 2: Describe an entrepreneurial idea or venture you’ve pursued, considered, or observed. What challenges did you encounter (or would you anticipate), and what did you learn about business, risk-taking, or innovation?

How is the scholarship paid?
The scholarship is paid directly to the winner via check. You’ll need to provide a mailing address where we can send the award after the winner is announced.
Can I apply if I’m still in high school?
Yes! High school seniors who have been accepted to an accredited college or university and will be enrolling as college freshmen are eligible to apply.
What should I include in my video?
Be authentic and thoughtful. We want to hear your personal story and perspective. Speak clearly, be yourself, and make sure your audio and lighting are decent (smartphone quality is perfectly fine).
Do I need professional video equipment?
Not at all. A smartphone in a well-lit area with clear audio is completely acceptable. We care about the content of your message, not production quality.
Will my video be made public?
By submitting your application, you grant Cambridge Home Loan permission to use your video for marketing and promotional purposes. This may include posting on our website, social media, or other marketing materials.
Do I need to be majoring in finance or real estate to apply?
No! This scholarship is open to students of all majors. We value diverse perspectives and encourage students from any field of study to apply.
Is this scholarship renewable?
This is a one-time award for the 2025–2026 academic year. However, we plan to offer this scholarship annually, so you’re welcome to apply again in future years if you remain eligible.
